Rašica, Ljubljana

Rašica (; (ドイツ語:Uranschitz)〔''Leksikon občin kraljestev in dežel zastopanih v državnem zboru,'' vol. 6: ''Kranjsko''. 1906. Vienna: C. Kr. Dvorna in Državna Tiskarna, p. 30.〕) is a small village in the hills above Srednje Gameljne north of the capital Ljubljana in central Slovenia. It belongs to the City Municipality of Ljubljana. It was part of the traditional region of Upper Carniola and is now included with the rest of the municipality in the Central Slovenia Statistical Region.〔(Ljubljana municipal site )〕
==Geography==
Rašica is a clustered village on a westward-facing sun-exposed slope below Stane Kosec Peak ((スロベニア語:Vrh Staneta Kosca)), a limestone elevation. The core of the settlement lies on both sides of the road to Srednje Gameljne. The steep limestone Reber Ridge rises above the village and contains karst caves. Below the ridge is a cliff known as ''Pod šitom'', and higher up are Cottage Cave (''Zidanica''), which was inhabited in prehistoric times, Big Cave (''Velika jama''), Fox Cave (''Lisičja jama'', also known as ''Kurja jama'' 'Chicken Cave' or ''Volčja jama'' 'Wolf Cave'), and Devil's Cave (''Hudičeva jama''). The soil in the area is loamy. There is a grassy valley below the village with shale deposits, where the headwaters of Črnušnica Creek (also known as Črnuče Creek, ''Crnuški potok'') gather, later joined by Dog Creek (''Pasji potok''). There are tilled fields along the level areas between the farms are around the village. The water main is fed by Ulrich's Spring (''Urhov studenec'') and Shrine Spring (''Pod znamenjem'').〔Savnik, Roman, ed. 1971. ''Krajevni leksikon Slovenije'', vol. 2. Ljubljana: Državna založba Slovenije, pp. 381–384.〕
